A Summer Camp for kids in North Cachar Hills

Category: Summer Camps News – admin – 2:00 am

Because of the consecutive blast coming from the other tribes, the residents in North Cachar Hill district were forced to live in the relief camps. Both the tribes of Dimasa Tribe and Jemi Nagas are experiencing Kids on Campviolence recently that causes the downfall of their economy. Today, various students are also affected; most of them had been stop from schooling for three months because of the tragedy that both of the two tribes had been doing. Since living in the relief shelter doesn’t bring good to the people especially to the kids, the life that they have is very much monotonous.

Due to this phenomenon, someone sympathized to their situations and offer a help through volunteering. The local organization which is the Ziliang Students Union was established to help those affected children. Volunteers are organizing a Kids summer camp through the regulation of the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan government. Since they inaugurated the organization they gave various benefits to the kids. Through the camp that they organized they were teaching the kids with the English language and other educational stuffs. Though the kids have not been attending schools for three months but they were still learning because of the primary subjects that the volunteers have shared.

Under the supervision of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, the children of the tribes are given stationary materials and books that they can use during the discussions. Additionally, aside from educating the kids the volunteers as well are organizing some traditional games for the kids and other physical activities which are being held during the evening time. Because of the organization’s helped in establishing Kids Summer camps the smiles of the kids on their faces turns back. After all it is not only the kids who feel happy about the program but as well as the volunteers who feel self fulfilled after their mission.
