Reminders for an Enjoyable Summer Camp

Category: Summer Camp Tips – admin – 2:24 am

2009 is another year for summer camps activities and to let another bonfire for the night. . As parents and children prepare for summer camps; you usually forgot some basic things to remind your children when they are already in the camp. One important thing to remind children is to prepare for summer heat to avoid heat stroke. Heat stroke can be avoided when you educate your children on the symptoms and the prevention of heat stroke. Though, counselors had already foreseen such incidents it is still advisable for parents to warn their children about such an occurrence.

Packing for summer camps are also a significant step for parents to ensure that your children have the right gears and clothes to wear during a night and day’s stay in the camp site. Clothes for the day’s activities should be light colored but not white, except if they have their own uniforms to wear during the stay in the summer camps. In the preparation for the clothes, the summer program should also be considered. Of course, you should consider the summer activities that your children will engage. A night’s wardrobe should cover your children’s body extremities.

Looking for a suitable summer program and camp should also start a year before you send your child to a certain camp so that you can check the camp’s facilities, programs and counselors. A choice of the kind of camp is also an arduous task. Choices either to engage in an adventure summer camp, tech camp or an overnight camp should be chosen with great care. A collaborative effort of child and parents should be considered when choosing for a camp.

Counselors should be informed of any medicines taken by children or any medications for any illness, for example an inhaler for asthmatic children. This is of course for the benefit of the children.
