My Own Kind of Summer Camp Activities

Star Gazing Summer ActivityI really thought that summer camps bring happy memories and excitement to ALL kids worldwide and to my surprise there are those that do not want to go to summer camps. Which group are you? Well for me and all my childhood friends, the first sign of summer means a season to enjoy under the sky during the day especially at night. Bonfire, adventure activities, storytelling and ghost storytelling are the most remembered summer camp activities.

Kids summer camp activities in our area is one exciting adventure for the kids for the summer with the help of teens in summer camps; they made our summer camps so enjoyable and memorable that can be remembered and talked about for years to come. Everything is not merely fun… everything is a memory that you would be happy to look back to. Fun summer camp activities that tests who were courageous and brave. I was and am proud to say…. I am one of those courageous campers.

It was an overnight camp actually for three nights. The adventure begun at the second night of our summer camps… some of our friends started telling ghost stories. We were so engrossed with the story that we were so afraid to even lift a hair. It was then that night’s adventure was about the game “bring me”. The twist in this game was that the things asked for were hidden inside the building that where the ghost stories happened. If I had found out that the building was full of counselors and teens hiding and watching for the seekers safety then perhaps I had looked and enjoyed my climb to the top of the building. It was a challenge that nobody would dare participate… they thought nobody would dare step on that building at midnight. For years nobody dared step up.

And on a slow motion… my hands came up that shocked the summer camp. I was small and fragile and bullied in the school and I would be the last person that they had expected to participate. That night it has changed my history and my name. That fateful night… I had gained the respect and admiration of my friends… up until the day of our last reunion.

It has happened 50 years ago and that fateful night was engraved to the kids and people in that summer camp.
