During summer did you ever think to volunteer in a summer camp program? If so then this is your chance to help others who needed you. However, because there are a lot of summer camp programs nowadays it is sometimes confusing what to choose.
However, perhaps you would want to be one of the summer volunteers on those kids with neuromuscular diseases the Muscular Dystrophy Association is looking for volunteers who could assist them and the kids with neuromuscular disease. The role of the volunteers is to help the kids to have fun and enjoy the summer camp activities. The said summer camp program will start this coming July 3-9 particularly in Bradford Woods, Martinsville.
The applicants who are eager to become a volunteer must be at the age of at least 16 years old. The volunteers should be able to carry and lift a person aging 6-17 with the said disease. The volunteer counselor responsibilities are to assist the kids as well as to become a companion with the camper having the said disease. Since the campers do not have enough capabilities to do the summer camp activities you as a volunteer will help them do it, such like doing crafts and arts, horseback riding and swimming.
The aimed of Muscular Dystrophy Association is to help kids with neuromuscular disease to enjoy and have fun just like normal kids or teenagers where they can participate on peer group activities and outdoor activities. However, the highlight of the camp is also to help the kids who were victims of the said event to grow emotionally and socially. And with the help of summer camp volunteers they can assure that they can reach the goal for the unfortunate neuromuscular disease victims.
