Everyone in this planet earth is given the privilege to enjoy and live out life abundantly. When I say everyone, it’s everyone– and this includes even those children with special needs.

That is why summer camps are not close to children, teens, and young adults alone, but even to those who are considered as special. In fact, the ACCES (All Children Can Experience Speers-Eljabar) Program at Camp Speers-Eljabar YMCA allows special people to have summer camps created for their capability and requirement.

The ACCESS program offers to special youngster ages 8 to 19 years old that has a mild to moderate mental disability. If he or she is able to function successfully within a 1:3 staff to camper ratio, independent or can be assisted in verbal cues to feed, bathe, and toilet, capable to adjust to environment changes, and able to communicate effectively with a need of a counselor, then this person can join a summer camp that suits him or her.

Daily camp life is detailed by the ACCESS Program into what they will be doing and how are they going to execute it. Basically, campers who select their chosen activity can participate for it within 1 or 2 hours each day in a week. They aim to have a coaching periods within the camp site so that they will be knowledgeable with their untapped skills. These coaching periods will guarantee to make them learn and enthusiastic all at the same time.

Cabin time is another camp life they can choose to do in that certain day. This particular group activity develops a stronger cohesiveness and appreciation with each of their group members. Oftentimes, special people are withheld from mingling with other people, but in this activity, they will get to socialize with their camp-mates and enjoy every detail inside the camp.

So if you know someone like a friend or anybody, or if you have your friend or relative who does have a special need, you can take advantage of the ACCESS program. Remember that life is to be enjoyed liberally. And summer camp created for their special need is indeed their privilege to enjoy life to the fullest.

Having a child with special needs is never can be easy for parents by any means. To the fact that a child with medical difficulties is truly heartbreaking; that is why, the parents of such certain child, if so ever, are on the lookout of how can they provide their child a true bliss to live his life all through.

Children with special needs need special attention. For example, a child whose autism is ill with refers to brain function disorder that distresses emotionally, his or her learning ability and memory and that disclose as the individual development.

The (ADA)- Americans with Disabilities Act, entails all camps that manage special children to make levelheaded accommodations including the setting up of wheelchair-accessible ramps for children using it, so that they can attend, too.

Through summer camp it is best worthy to let children with special needs into. Parents have more alternatives to choose from and decide which camp is finest for their child, which considers careful concern from highly specialized or just a regular summer camp that can for sure accommodate campers’ well.

When it comes to Special Needs Summer Camps, children with special needs have as many options as other ordinary children. Summer camps that are designed exclusively for children including those who have emotional and physical disorder, autism, hard of hearing, those who have learning disabilities, and more other kinds of developmental growth problem.

Plenty of summer camps accept children with a selection of needs, while some camps only accept children with specific problems. However, wherever you may consent your child to take part with, each has a mission to help campers attain dignity, quality, and utmost independence.

They are given the chance to have fun by indulging to game activities that can also makes way to let them learn the essence of teamwork, befriend to other campers, and of course overcome their self-pity suchlike and enhance it while on camp. A weeklong summer camp is definitely a bounty of learning personal skills and in nurturing environment as well.
